Banana Bix-Shake recipe from 4 Ingredients

Mother drinking from daughters smoothy cup

Here's a breakfast treat the kids will love from Kim McCosker of 4 Ingredients.

Back in 2017 Kim McCosker from 4 Ingredients took time out to speak with Living Smart about the food we throw away, and how busy families can use simple menu planning techniques to get more organised in the kitchen and prevent waste.

So with bananas wilting in fruit bowls across the Sunny Coast, we thought we'd grab this one out the archives – a breakfast treat the kids will love from Kim McCosker of 4 Ingredients.

It's the perfect way to love your leftovers and use up any excess bananas. Better still, buy bananas when they are on special, peel, chop and freeze, then use frozen banana to make this delicious shake.

overripe bananas
Makes 1
  • 1 banana
  • 1½ cups (375ml) milk
  • 1 Weet-Bix (or 2-3 tablespoon of your kids favourite whole-grain cereal)
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

Blend all ingredients together until nice and smooth.

For more of Kim's gloriously simple recipes pick up a copy of 4 Ingredients Menu Planning or order one of the 4 Ingredients cookbooks, available in print or as an eBook.
