Rubber Jellyfish - Plastic Free July movie screening

Immanuel Lutheran College
Sunshine Coast Council

We all know that throwing rubbish on the ground is littering, so why is letting a balloon float away seen as something different? Rubber Jellyfish is a feature-length documentary that explores the effects of helium balloons on the environment, wildlife and human beings.

Join your Clean Ocean Heroes and Director Carly Wilson for a free family friendly movie screening of Rubber Jellyfish.

This Plastic Free July, Sunshine Coast Council is offering a free community screening of Rubber Jellyfish.

Rubber Jellyfish explores the surprising damage that helium balloons are causing to our marine life and features a number of local clean ocean heroes that assisted Director Carly Wilson with a collection of rubber jellyfish balloons that were collected from our local beaches.

A Q and A session with Carly and our Clean Ocean Heroes will take place after the screening to discuss local source reduction ideas.

The event will be hosted by Immanuel Lutheran College from 4:30pm to 6:30pm on Sunday 21 July.

This event will follow on from the beach clean up we will be hosted at Alexandra Headland from 2:30pm
