DIY Paper Plant Pots

Paper pots are a fun, eco-friendly alternative to plastic pots for anyone who grows vegetables, herbs or flowers from seeds.

Paper pots degrade naturally once plants seedlings mature and are an ideal way to use up excess newspaper.

While there are loads of videos for creating your own paper pots online, this origami-inspired pot from a Tassie real food family is one of the more robust options. The clever design also allows roots direct access to the soil as the plant grows.

Make in batches and they’ll be ready for your next round of planting!

Gardening Australia has also created a video on DIY pots from paper. These pots are a little faster to make and perfect if you want to get the kids involved. Old toilet rolls are also excellent seed starter pots.
